About us

My passion for kimonos began in the heart of Tokyo, sparked by an unforgettable gift from my ikebana teacher—a gesture that touched me deeply. Receiving my first kimono was more than just acquiring a beautiful garment; it was a transformative experience. The softness of the fabric against my skin, the delicate artistry of the patterns, and the ritual of being dressed so carefully and thoughtfully—it left an indelible mark on me, awakening a profound appreciation for the elegance and soul woven into each thread.

When I moved to Europe, I longed to keep this connection alive. I began to find new ways to embrace kimonos, blending tradition with modernity, letting them become part of my everyday life in unconventional and contemporary ways. This journey of integrating something so timeless into a different culture led to the birth of "Kimono for Life," a project born out of love for both the kimonos themselves and the stories they carry.

"Kimono for Life" is not just about fashion; it's about breathing new life into pre-loved kimonos, each with its own unique story. When you choose a pre-loved kimono, you’re not simply wearing a garment—you are becoming part of a legacy, embracing the history and emotions carried within the fabric. Every kimono has seen moments of life, joy, and beauty, and in wearing one, you give these moments a new chapter, making them part of your own story.

By giving these garments a new home, we honor the past while creating something entirely personal and new. It’s an act of preservation, of creativity, and of self-expression. Through this, we continue the journey of these kimonos, breathing new life into timeless beauty, and making it uniquely our own.

Be you, be your own style.
