Description: This women’s vintage haori is crafted from luxurious rinzu silk and features an elegant woven fan pattern (sensu / ōgi). In Japanese culture, folding fans symbolize expansion, prosperity, and good fortune, as their shape opens outward. Traditionally, fans were also believed to ward off evil and invite luck into one’s life, making this motif both beautiful and auspicious.
The fan designs are woven directly into the rinzu silk, creating a subtle, refined texture that reveals itself gently in the light. Within each fan, delicate motifs of flowing water and clouds are incorporated, symbols of continuity, movement, and harmony. The overall effect is understated yet deeply symbolic.
The haori is finished with haori himo (decorative fastening cords) and adorned with a family crest (kamon): Go-Shichi no Kiri (5–7 paulownia), a prestigious emblem associated with nobility, authority, and protection.
Fabric: High-quality rinzu silk with a softly woven jacquard pattern, offering an elegant sheen and depth.
Style: Women’s vintage haori, suitable for formal or refined casual wear. Its subtle woven design and meaningful symbolism make it ideal for traditional styling or elegant modern layering.
Condition: Vintage, in good condition. The silk is well preserved, the woven pattern remains clear, with only light, age-appropriate wear.
